happy new year.
(:
NS is quite scary (to me. haha) actually, from what I hear from my cousin.
They have to do life range or something like that. And if you misfire a gun during practices you can easily get detention for 2 weeks to about a month, if your sargeant is nasty. And you do lots of stuff that are hard to do (to me) for 9/10th of the time in a day.
And I heard that for people who sign up for pilots, they keep cutting every exam. And at the final final end, they only pick about 20 or so (good luck Gabriel). And in that 20 or so, although they don't say, most or all of them have got private flying classes before they entered NS. So its quite impossible to become one of the remaining 20 if you signed up just because you like planes.
I'm glad I don't have to go for NS (:
But for pilots, if you're one of the remaining 20 or so, and you get your flying license, and when you're out of NS, they can help you convert your license into one for flying commercial planes. So you get to be a pilot when you grow up (: (or get out of NS)
Oh, oh, and its really funny. Cause the people are really scared of you dying a sudden death during NS, so as long as you have a slight cough or flu, they give you some medical status thing and you're not allowed to join any of the vigorous activities. And half their activities are vigorous. Haha. And as long as you have any slight disabilities, you get to do easier stuff. Like being a storeman (is that what you call them?) Forgot whoose friend's son was just a wee bit colour blind and he was assigned the driver job (which is really good. I mean the job. You get all sorts of license)
But its still scary. Again dunno whoose friend's son was just sitting at the back of the truck and then he fell off and died. Ouch. (I know it sounds silly the way I tell it, but its actually really scary)
The people there take care of you when they're sick but you have to buy your own insurance. They go to your camp and sell it to you, but they cheat your money. Even the sargeant says so.
Oh well. NS is just really scary.
Enough of NS. I wont' be going there anyway.
Alrighty, going off to enjoy the last day of my holiday now by doing unfinished homework (:
