up till now, i still have the last scene stuck in my mind :D coolios.
especially the band (:
i can't believe the next time i go to school, exams would have started.
it feels so near yet so far away.
the faster next week passes, the better.
can't wait for friday (: cause there's
1. GEL
well, that's not really something to look forward to, seeing that i hear the leadership thing like once every year in mg. but it's a sign that exams are over :D or at least, mid years.
2. celebrate YY's birthday :) :)
3. sax in the city
well, i don't really like jazz, but i like the esplanade :D
i'm not gonna have enough time for lit, a math, e math, ss, and maybe english and chinese and geog.
gonna have loads of time for bio though.
cause i'm gonna skip soooo many questions :D
so take the photographs and still frames in your mind
tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
for what it's worth, it was worth all the while
it's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right
i hope you've had the time of your life
i don't feel like studying anymore after sec school.
i'm not what teachers call 'hungry for knowledge' (well, at least not the boring stuff they teach in school) and i only need Os to become a zookeeper anyway.
but ah well, my dad would never ever let me stop schooling after sec school.
he probably even wants me to go up to uni which i don't think i'm capable of and have absolutely no interest in.
studying would be much more fun if there weren't exams and if they didn't teach boring stuff like surds which i don't think i'll ever use in my life after i leave school.
and
badminton is addictive (:
another thing to look forward too after exams (:
------
wake up, what do you see
I see the LCD screen staring at me
ipod, playing songs in my head
block out the sound of pain, blocks out the fear
fahrenheit is (one of the) coolest book ever :D
modern technology
instant coffee, instant everything
nature, no longer there
can see it, feel it, but we no longer care
i think it has quite a great impact on me. it makes me stop and think
"oh my gosh, he's thinking!"
cause we're in the age of disposable tissue
blow, wad, flush, blow, wad, flush
and we've all got issues
that day, i tasted the rain (eva thought i was crazy, haha)
it doesn't taste like wine (the book lies!) but it felt quite. i dunno. cool. to just be standing in the rain and tasting it.
(yes, people tell me i'm tasting like, dog pee and all that crappy sewage water, etc. but i can't really be bothered. it's just like some people's got issues with cleaning animal cages but i don't)
contact with nature
but, like ms tan says, the book is quite true in some ways.
1. it speaks of palour TVs (tvs on walls)
doesn't that sound like our LCD...
2. it speaks of 'seashells' (stuff that play songs and just sounds in people's ears to keep them occupied)
doesn't that sound like our ipods and all...
3. it speaks of 'going into the age of the disposable tissue'
aren't we in the age of the disposable tissue...? (fyi, people used to use hankies)
4. it speaks of 'cars driving at 100km/h on highways'
don't we all do that now...?
5. it speaks of technology taking over our lives
isn't that happening to all of us now? if it's not the ipod, it's the lcd, if not it's the comp...
and, this book was written 50 years ago
are we really headed for a dystopic society?
anyone wants to buy me other Ray Bradbury books? :D
i really should go study now.
I got my job attachment :D
Now to pray that I get to go to the zoo...(:
AND
Since I don't get to go around the world, Sam promised to get me stuff from Europe, Geri promised chocolate from NZ, Xiang promised Jelly Beans from US, and YY promised stuff (sweets, I hope :D) from Japan
haha. I get a bit of everywhere!
and in return, I promised something from the zoo (poo! :D), if I get to go to the zoo...
If they give me some crappy office job, I'm gonna appeal for Japan or something.
It'd be cool if I get to go to a lawyer's office though :D but to do that, I've got to write in a letter myself, which I am too lazy to >.<
AND AND
After school, I played badminton (:
I'm glad I haven't lost my touch yet, haven't played for half a year or so (:
THEN
After that, we went to watch some Sheng Ming No Take 2 thing at Church of Our Saviour.
It's a chinese christian musical, with eng subs :D But the subs were kinda messed up halfway.
But it was rather good :D
You missed it though, HAHA :D
The best part was when the skinny-calf guy was so sad, and was really crying, which made it even sadder. Then my eyes became watery and hot and I felt like crying too :D
And I don't just cry while watching any show okay. The only other shows I remember crying while watching it are (this sounds gramatically wrong):
1) The clip from The Passion of Christ which everyone keeps showing me (but it still never fails to make me sad everytime I watch it)
2) Lilo and Stitch ):
AND AND AND
Mr Seow says that recounts (which means this blog post) should always be in chronological order. However, what I am about to type happened way before watching Sheng Ming No Take 2, even before I knew that I got the job attachment. But, heck.
During English, Klarissa and I were playing a game where the first person says a word, then the next person says another word that starts with the letter the previous word ends with.
EXAMPLE
Royal --> Lion --> Nest
and so on
But to make it more challenging, we had a topic. And the topic was:
ANIMALS.
It was so silly.
We kept getting stuck at E. Now, I know a whole list of animals that starts with the letter E (well, not exactly a whole list, but more than one)
- Elephant
- Emu
- Eel
- Earthworm
- Eagle
Then, I got stuck at Y, and I already used Yak (you can't repeat again)
Then I thought and thought and thought and thought.
Then we kinda just forgot about the game and it ended. Haha
Now, I know a whole list of animals that start with the letter Y too (:
- Yellow Cluster Acopora
- Yellow Cup Coral
- Yellow Eye Tang
- Yellow Perch
- Yellow Polyps
- Yellow Ratsnake
- Yellow Stingray
- Yellow Tang
- Yellow-banded poison dart frog
- Yellow footed tortoise
- Yellow-bellied Marmot
And honestly, I have no idea how any of them look like.
And honestly, I have never heard of any of them before.
Off to study geog nowWhat joy :D
