Day six at work [last day): ): ): ].
Cleaned the pangolin's (Ros') enclosure in the morning, cut more veg and stuffs (gave myself another small cut).
Got to feed a himalayn tahr again:D The picky eater didn't want the banana today. Gave it some kangkong leaves instead (:
Showed Dino the shot I took of him scratching his head and in return, Dino showed me a video he took of the two baby himalayan tahrs jumping around like mexican beans :D and some other weird video he took at the phuket zoo (where he says there are more animal statues than real animals) which starred a t-rex and Sesth (Elena's keeper) being eaten by a t-rex.
Oh, and I got to carry Ros again today :D (her claws sure are sharp o.o).
Anyway, quite free towards to end of the day. So Ade brought us (Jason, the weird chung cheng guy, and I) to see the hedgehogs. Got to carry the hedgehogs one last time (before I leave. But it won't be the last time I ever carry a hedgehog! I'll be back!:D) and say bye bye to the binturongs.
Then went to see the fishing cats (cause Jason hasn't seen them before. And he's been there one more day than me. Hah).
And finally, the best and saddest part of the day, went to the vet to see the ferret.
The ferret was originally kept illegally by some idiot guy. The idiot guy didn't feed her properly, causing the ferret's digestive system to become all jumbled up. Most probably wanting to avoid medical costs (or maybe he didn't want to be caught for keeping an illegal pet), the idiot guy dumped the ferret outside the zoo. Now, the ferret's pretty skinny (her belly is bloated though, and her whole body is not exactly in proportion, thanks to the idiot guy), and her digestive system is still jumbled up (and will probably never be normal again, thanks to the idiot guy).
She's pretty docile though, since she was kept as a pet, and loves the attention she gets from people. So I got to carry her (and I would have asked if I could bring her home, if ferrets weren't illegal as pets). Hope she gets better (:
Idiot guy.
And, a couple of the animals at the vet place were rabbits who were dumped outside by other idiot guys. Unfortunately, the poor rabbits will have to end up in the lion's mouth. Well, goody for the lions (: But the poor rabbits sure lead awfully sad lives ): (and I would have asked if I could bring the rabbits home as well, but my mum would object).
There was this other animal there (couldn't quite catch its name) which was kept as an illegal pet by another idiot guy. The police managed to seize it, but the way they seized it kind of nearly killed it. Sheesh.
Anyway, hope the poor ferret gets better):
Maybe I'll become a vet next time. But I'll have to study real hard (and get used to looking at the innards of animals). And studying isn't exactly my forte. Oh well. We'll see.
Then, it was time to say goodbye to everyone ): ): ):
I pinned up my thank you/goodbye card on their board. Hope they see it(:
Missing all my friends (both animal and human) at the night safari real bad ):

Day three at work.
Got Ade as keeper for the day (: Started the day by losing my way while trying to find the place where I'm supposed to report for work.
Anyway, fed the animals in the morning. And correction, I saw the leopard cat on day two. Not the fishing cat. Saw the fishing cats on day three. There are eight of 'em. Really pretty, but they sure do hiss a lot. And I got a thousand and one mosquito bites while cleaning their enclosure.
After lunch (mee siam. bleah), went to cut some veg, then went off at 2. Cause the keepers had some prayer thing.
So, went into the zoo with Belle, Estee, and Claire (: (: for free (: (: cause we were wearing the volunteer badge, so they kind of just let us in. Saw the otter feeding session. Some were really greedy. They'd grab some fish and hide it under their chest, making it seem like they had none, supposedly tricking the trainer into throwing more fishies, and protecting the fishies from other otters at the same time.
Best of all, got to see Omar, Jippie and Winnie too (: (: the viewing place at their enclosure was jam-packed with people. Guess the incident last week brought them loads of publicity.
And, at kidzworld, the pony's hay dropped out of their enclosure and within our reach, so we picked up the hay and started feeding the pretty ponies. One of them is only 54kg o.o

Day four at work.
Got Ade again (: Washed two of the pangolins' enclosure in the morning (Ros' and Hook's). Had to wash their disgusting food bowl too (which was filled with their digusting mealworm smoothie). Then, Ade brought me to see the gibbons (which actually belong to the zoo). The way they swing is so "seamless" (as Ade puts it). And their fur is like the kipling ape's fur :D
Cut stuff as usual, then went to feed the animals (: (otters, flamingoes, pelicans, white storks, all sorts of ducks, and, the sentinel chicken).
The sentinel chicken is called the sentinel chicken cause they're actually placed in this cage is which is also a snake trap (and it does not harm the chickens). Last week (or is it last month? can't remember. i think last month) 4 pelicans died cause of the snakes. So now, they're confined at night. Also, the chickens are placed all around the place, mainly near birds. So if there's the bird flu virus passing around or some other bird virus, the chickens will be the first to die. And when they do, it'll be a sign for the keepers that something's wrong. And there you have it, the sentinel chickens.
Oh, and before the day ended, I got to pat the more docile himalayan tahrs and feed them some bananas :D

Day five at work.
Time sure pasts fast when you're having fun.
Got Dino as keeper for the day. Haven't really seen him before, so he could be counted as 'new' (to me). Thought he looked like the dao kind. But he's really quite fun :D
He looks at things in a funny way, talks about fun stuff, and, yeah. Heh. He even brought me to the male toilet cause I told him I haven't seen one before (those in MG and unisex toilets not counted).
Today was a combination of day three and day four. Did day three morning stuff, and day four afternoon stuff.
Got pecked by a silly chicken today. Didn't know they hurt so much. Maybe it's cause I ate one of its friends for lunch (lunch was awesome today).
Oh, and I cut two of my fingers while cutting veg today. Got one from cutting long beans (my mum finds it hilarious that I can actually get a cut from cutting long beans) and got the more serious cut from cutting apples. Hurts like crap.
Oh, got to see how they confine the pelicans after work today :D
Last day of work tomorrow ): ): ):

Day two at work.
Got posted to the Night Safari. Don't think I get to work night shift though ):
Got Suman as my keeper for the day (though Ade sort of took over after lunch. And he's more fun:D). She's fine. Just can't stand the fact that she smokes (like 2 cigarettes during a span of, what, 20min?). It's going to increase my chance (and hers too) of getting lung cancer.
And I'm quite shocked that more than half the keepers at the Night Safari smokes.
Anyway, did a loooooooooooooooot of washing today. I bet I washed the same baisin at least 5 times today.
And I personally feel I've been very brave today.
I touched a million slimy (dead) fishes (I'm terrified of fishes, dead and alive. Unless they're cooked. Heehee(: I sound evil) and even more mealworms.
The fishies:
I had to sort out the fishes and I was trying to hold them all by their tails cause I really don't want to touch their heads (and their eyeballs). There were no gloves cause I couldn't find them. So halfway through, Suman gave me a plastic bag to use as a glove. The plastic bag was used to store a dead, frozen, and bloody chicken before that. How helpful.
The mealies:
I tried not to look at them squirming and imagined them as spaghetti (really, really short spaghetti). And when I had to wash them in this bowl of water (they look utterly disgusting, squirming in the water), I tried to imagine myself as cooking spaghetti. Kind of helped.
I wish I was Bindi the Jungle Girl. I wouldn't be scared of fishies or mealies.
On the bright side, I got to see 3 binturongs, a fishing cat, a family of otters, many many i-forgot-the-name, 2 crocs, 2 lesser mousedeers, 1 greater mousedeer, a muntjac (barking deer), two birds that go 'honk', and a pelican.
And I got to carry a hedgehog (they're prettyyyy:D) and a pangolin too (they're pretty too:D).
And the pangolins aren't even on display yet.
Yay me.
The pangolin's food is disgusting though. It's
blended mealworms, boiled eggs, meat, salmon oil, and some other stuff. Yucks. And Ade had to taste it when the zoo first came up with that concoction. Ewww.
The Singapore Zoo is the first zoo to successfully keep pangolins in captivity.
Can't wait for tomorrow (:
matatoduo;
First day at work.
Elena brought along a camera cause she thought the first day at work would be memorable.
Memorable indeed.
We got sent home because the woman didn't get the stupid indemnity forms.
Stupid Singapore Post Office.
Of all the letters to lose.
Six days of work and one is already wasted.
Oh well.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
On the way to the zoo, the guy on the radio used the word promiscuous so much, it got irritating.

LTC was awesome.
Ben&Jerry's at Dempsey was awesome.
HSM3 was almost awesome.
Merrilyn and I snuck bo lo buns (I love bo lo buns), a coffe bun, and a springroll in. It lasted us 10 minutes into the show. Haha.
And in the start, when the girl suddenly stood up on the stands, and everything was in slow mo, I laughed my head off. Haha.
And cause Merrilyn already watched it twice, she was criticizing the whole movie and pointing out all the loopholes in the movie the whole time.
Example 1: at the bbq party at the guy's house, the guy and the girl were on the tree house singing, and suddenly the roof opened and you could see the stars.
"Look look look! They're both holding hands! Who on earth is the one opening the roof?"
Example 2: the weird London girl with the weird accent was in the same drama class as fabulus. "How on earth can the girl be in senior year when she just joined the school?"
And many more.
It was quite entertaining.
And good thing the theatre was quite empty (I bet it's cause everyone's watched it already. HSM3's already earned a looot of money, according to the newspaper), cause we were making a lot of noise.
I like the song the girl and the guy sang on the roof top :D
I wonder my school's roof top is not as nice (and school fees cost a bomb). All that's on my school roof top are water tanks which contains dirty water polluted with hair and such, and other random pipes and electrical thingums.
I love the scene where Ryan and Kelsi sang together (:
That was the best scene in the whole movie.
I think Ryan is more awesome than the guy. Not as hunky, but he has a much nicer voice and cool hats and cool socks and cool pants. Good thing he got much better roles in HSM2&3. If not I probably wouldn't continue watching HSM.
Yay for Ryan.
Merrilyn's getting Guitar Hero World Tour tomorrow!
